Cupping Therapy (Add-On)

Dry, non-piercing suction cupping worked into a deep tissue or therapeutic massage. Your therapist warms the tissue by hand, decompresses the tight spots with cups, then integrates by hand. A traditional comfort practice — not a medical treatment.

Key Benefits:

  • Decompresses stubborn knots
  • Pairs with deep tissue or futon
  • Dry cupping only, never wet
  • Marks fade in 3–7 days

Gua Sha (Add-On)

The same tradition as cupping, worked in the opposite direction: a smooth-edged tool stroked firmly along oiled skin instead of suction lifting it. It reaches the neck, shoulder ridge, forearms and shins where a cup cannot seal, and rides inside the same massage appointment.

Key Benefits:

  • Reaches where cups can't seal
  • Combines well with cupping
  • Same session, no extra visit
  • Temporary marks, few days

How to Choose Which Massage to Book

Six options is two more than most people want to weigh on a phone call, so work through them in this order. Each step rules out several of the six, and the whole sequence takes under 2 minutes. If you get stuck at any point, say so on the phone and the front desk will decide it with you.

  1. Decide whether you want to undress. If the answer is no, book futon floor-mat massage — it is done fully clothed on a padded mat and it is the only one in Eau Claire.
  2. Decide whether you want relaxation or repair. Relaxation points at Swedish; a specific knot or chronic tightness points at deep tissue.
  3. Pick a length. 60 minutes covers a full body pass, 90 minutes lets a therapist stay on one region without rushing the rest, 120 minutes is for when you want both.
  4. Decide about add-ons. Cupping suits a stubborn spot that hands alone have not finished; gua sha reaches the neck and shoulder ridge where a cup cannot seal.
  5. Flag anything medical before booking, not on the table. Blood thinners, pregnancy, recent surgery and flaring skin all change what is appropriate.
  6. Call 715-256-8288 any day between 9:00 AM and 9:30 PM. First visits are $5 off, and hot stone therapy plus sauna access are included at no charge.

Choosing Between Our Services

Our massage services in Eau Claire cover 4 styles plus 2 add-ons, in 60, 90 and 120 minute sessions with certified therapists. Futon floor-mat massage is our signature and the only one of its kind in the city; Swedish, deep tissue and relaxation/therapeutic massage services cover the rest; cupping and gua sha ride inside any of them.

Picking the wrong style is the single most common reason someone leaves a massage disappointed, so this section is the decision guide rather than the menu. Call 715-256-8288 and the front desk will confirm the choice — we are open 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM all 7 days.

Start with the problem, not the service name

The fastest way to choose is to describe what is actually bothering you. Tight and achy all over points to Swedish. One stubborn knot that keeps returning points to deep tissue. Stiff hips and a limited range of motion point to futon. Wanting an hour of nothing points to Swedish again.

If you cannot decide, say exactly that when you call. 'My upper back has been tight for a month and I sit at a desk' is more useful to a therapist than any service name, and the front desk will pick for you.

The one you can't get elsewhere

Futon massage is performed on a padded mat on the floor with you fully dressed and no oil, using body weight through forearms and knees plus 15 to 25 assisted stretches across 4 to 6 positions. No other studio in Eau Claire offers it. It is also the easiest first massage for anyone who finds the undressing part of table massage off-putting.

When to add cupping or gua sha

Both are traditional comfort practices rather than treatments, and both are add-ons inside a massage rather than standalone bookings. Cupping suits broad flat areas — the back, glutes, thighs — where a cup can seal. Gua sha covers the neck, shoulder ridge, forearms and shins where it cannot. The cupping guide explains both, and the safety page covers who should skip them.

How long to book

60 minutes covers one region properly or the whole body lightly. 90 minutes covers two regions, which matters because tight areas are usually connected — a sore lower back is normally tied to the glutes and hip flexors. 120 minutes is for two or three regions unhurried, or for pairing a full massage with cupping and gua sha.

Add about 15 minutes to any of those for intake and changing, and another 15 to 20 if you want the sauna — which is included with every session, along with hot stone therapy.

What our massage services include, and what we won't sell you

Hot stone therapy and sauna access come with every one of our massage services at no extra charge, which is not standard among Eau Claire studios — most sell hot stone as a $20 to $40 upgrade. First visits are $5 off. There is no membership, no package pressure and no upsell script.

We also will not tell you that massage flushes toxins, breaks up scar tissue or realigns your spine, because none of that holds up. The benefits page grades every common claim against what NCCIH and Mayo Clinic actually publish, including the ones where the answer is no.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which massage should I book if I'm not sure?

Describe the problem rather than picking a service name. Tight and achy all over points to Swedish; one stubborn knot points to deep tissue; stiff hips and limited range of motion point to futon floor-mat; wanting an hour of nothing points back to Swedish. Say it plainly when you call at 715-256-8288 and the front desk will pick.

What is the difference between your four massage styles?

Futon is a fully clothed, oil-free floor-mat session built around 15 to 25 assisted stretches. Swedish is light to moderate table massage with oil, aimed at relaxation. Deep tissue is firm table work on one or two regions using forearms and elbows, aimed at knots. Relaxation/therapeutic is a tailored mix built around one specific issue.

How long should my session be?

60 minutes covers one region properly or the whole body lightly. 90 covers two regions, which suits most problems since tight areas are usually connected. 120 covers three, or a full massage plus cupping and gua sha. Add 15 minutes for intake and changing, plus 15 to 20 if you want the included sauna.

Is hot stone therapy really included?

Yes, along with sauna access, at no extra charge with every session. Most Eau Claire studios sell hot stone as a $20 to $40 upgrade. First visits are also $5 off. There is no membership and no package requirement.

Can I add cupping or gua sha to any massage?

Yes. Cupping adds 15 to 30 minutes and suits broad flat areas like the back, glutes and thighs. Gua sha adds 10 to 20 minutes and covers the neck, shoulder ridge, forearms and shins where a cup will not seal. Book 90 minutes rather than 60 if you want either, and mention it when you call.

Do you offer packages or memberships?

No. Sessions are booked one at a time, first visits are $5 off, and hot stone therapy and sauna access are included with every one. If you want to come regularly, most guests settle into every 2 to 4 weeks — but there is nothing to sign.
